Met this fellow Texas State grad at the range and was surprised by how well he was helping another couple on the line understand something. He was helping them while training his own son and keeping his own son. His son was happy to be there and learn despite how overstimulating it appeared for him. Rewards progress of any measure and makes everyone feel like they’re capable if they are trying. Totally recommend getting practice in with his team.
Our instructor was fantastic. He’s not some advanced competition shooter that is intimidating but knows how to help us newcomers feel comfortable and improve. For a military guy he seemed rather laid back.
Crazy to think that this guy was an engineer and not some Naval instructor for the shooting range with how well he was teaching me how to get my aim under control and stay on target. Big guy, but calm, welcoming and reassuring.
